CHARLES LINDBERGH

The Transatlantic Collection

In the beginning, Erkers sold anything with a lens, including the goggles Charles Lindbergh wore during the first solo, non-stop transatlantic flight from New York to Paris in 1927.

NEW YORK TO PARIS

The Spirit of St. Louis

His single-engine monoplane, The Spirit of St. Louis, had lifted off from Roosevelt Field in New York and landed at Le Bourget Field in Paris, the first non-stop flight across the Atlantic Ocean, taking a total of 33 1/2 hours.

If you look closely on the temple tips, you will see on one side, the airplane emblem with the New York airport code (RFA), while on the other side, the Paris airport-code (LBG).

SINCE 1879

International Sales

Erkers is very proud to have made Charles Lindbergh's goggles. This was Erker's first international project and first time back in Europe since 1879 when their ancestors immigrated to the United States from Germany. While our first pair of goggles made it across the world hundreds of years ago, we are greatful to be making sales throughout Europe today.
